Construction Controller

Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Controller in the Construction/Contractor industry in Fairview, New Jersey, United States. As a Controller, you will be instrumental in overseeing the company's financial health and profitability, managing cash flow, and liaising with banks for financial transactions. Responsibilities: Oversee the financial health and profitability of the company Conduct thorough cash flow analysis and manage financial resources Prepare and present comprehensive financial reports Liaise with banks for bank draws and money transfers Utilize Sage 100 or Timberline for financial operations Ensure readiness for promotion to senior accountant/AM level Maintain accurate records and process customer credit applications efficiently Monitor customer accounts and take action where necessary Utilize Microsoft Excel for data management and analysis. Requirements Must have a Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field, Master's degree preferred. Proven work experience as a Controller, preferably in the construction or contractor industry. Extensive knowledge of accounting principles and procedures. Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel is mandatory. Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Excellent leadership abilities to oversee the financial department. Ability to strategize and solve problems promptly. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively convey financial information to non-financial staff members. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation is highly desirable. Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and meet deadlines. Experience with financial software and systems. High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
