The Ambulatory OB Coordinator supports the Practice Manager and physicians by tracking and monitoring OB patients, charts, and testing in addition to providing patient education.
Responsibilities:
Database/OB Chart MaintenanceMaintains OB database: records all new OB patients and monitors changes, distributes lists/reports as requestedMaintains PPD programPre-certs all OB patientsOrders medication with third party authorization and maintains log Liaison between practice and Labor and Delivery at the hospitalAudits OB charts and maintains results flow (blood work, ultrasound, correspondence, etc.)Follows-up on any changes from physicians’ OB chart reviews, appropriately communicates results to physicians Handle patient prescriptions with the pharmacy with appropriate clinical supervision
Patient Education/Clinical DutiesAssists physician with direct patient care when appropriateSchedules all associated OB testing and appointments and provide patients with instructionsMaintains exam rooms and perform NST (Non-stress Test) as directed by providerProvides OB patients with diabetic testing supplies and scripts, refers patients to diabetic teaching & nutritional counselingActs as point of contact for non-emergent OB triage, triage patient calls with appropriate clinical supervisionWrites OB lab slips for patients with appropriate clinical supervision
Credentials:
Registered Nurse - NJ (Required)
RN licensure in good standing in the state of Pennsylvania or New Jersey, as appropriate
Basic Cardiac Life Support
Education or Equivalent Experience:
H.S. Diploma/GED (Required)
RN
Education Specialization:Equivalent Experience:And 3+ years experience in healthcare setting, preferable in Women's Health.
Associate of Arts or Science
Education Specialization:Nursing, Business, or Healthcare AdminEquivalent Experience:And 1+ years preferably in Women's Health setting
Bachelor of Arts or Science
Education Specialization:Nursing, Business, or Healthcare AdminEquivalent Experience:And 1+ years preferably in Women's Health setting
