Parkway Clinical Laboratories (PCL) is a College of American Pathologists (CAP) accredited national CLIA-certified clinical reference laboratory located in Bensalem, PA. PCL is focused primarily on serving addiction and pain management specialists, as well as supporting anti-aging and wellness providers in the initial diagnosis and ongoing care of patients suffering from complex chronic diseases, nutritional deficiencies and advanced cardiovascular risk.

Job Description

Ideal candidates must have excellent direct patient care and specimen collection experience a plus. Performing job responsibilities as assigned. Be able to work independently

• Follow specimen collection protocols in SOP manual for specimen collection.

• Performing only assigned job and not performing any duties that are not directly related to specimen collection.

• Ensure that all patient paperwork is filled out correctly and all necessary information has been captured at the time of the collection. Including Ordering Doctor, Ordered tests, RX List, Patients signature, Date and time of collection.

• Utilizes good laboratory practices in handling specimens, requisitions and chain of custody.

• Dressing in compliance with clinic needs. (Usually scrubs).

• Following general work protocols regarding breaks, cell phone usage during business hours.

• Keeping all patient information secure.

• Adjusting to work flow of specific clinics.

• Communicating to lab any issues or concerns.

• Greet Patients Professionally and ensure patients complete privacy.

• Perform collections for urine drug testing.

• Using universal precautions and following safety guide lines.

• Reporting any suspected adulteration, substitution or any concerns to ordering physician.

• Update and maintain client contact information and records, as necessary

• Monitor and maintain supplies and supply records for all clinic needs. Communicating to lab any supply requests in timely manner.

• Data entry faxing, scanning and copying documents as necessary.

• Securely and safely package specimens for pick up by lab’s courier service or by UPS. Ensuring proper shipping labels used.

Minimum requirements:

• Minimum age requirement of 18.

• Must be a high school graduate, or have achieved equivalency through GED exam or other means.

• Good reading, writing and math abilities are required.

• Excellent oral and written communication skills

• Must be extremely well organized

• Outstanding attention to details and ability to complete the job with no errors.

• Computer software skills including experience with MS Office products

• Customer service attitude

• Data entry skills

• Driver's license and reliable transportation

• Ability to relate well with clients in a professional and compassionate manner

• Strong work ethic and commitment to completing assigned tasks

LIKELY CANDIDATE SHOULD POSSESS:

• Honesty and integrity, self-motivation and discipline, reliable, multi-tasking abilities, organizational Skills, detail oriented skills, dedication to high quality work and company spirit.

• The ability to work independently with minimum supervision,

• 2 years of experience in a medical setting preferred.
