Inserts East, a leading commercial printer, is seeking a Press Mechanic Assistant to join its growing work force. Located in Pennsauken, NJ, Inserts East employs approximately 190 people and continues to expand its printing capabilities and employee base.
Summary: Press Mechanic Assistant works with the Press Lead Mechanic in performing mechanical troubleshooting and repairs.
Responsibilities:
Proactive and reactive maintenance to facility equipment: mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic.
Responsible for Auxiliary Equipment, repairs, and troubleshooting.
Equipment and facility improvements, as needed.
Maintain inventory (use/receipt) and shift reports.
Adhering to all company policies, including safety practices.
Other duties may be assigned.
Requirements:
High School diploma and/or equivalent experience.
Print Shop Maintenance experience preferred; Machine Shop and Welding also desired.
Education in basic electrical, motor controls, relay logic, plumbing, pneumatics, and hydraulics preferred.
Proficient in reading both, Electrical and Mechanical blueprints.
Strong organization and communication skills, with ability to prioritize.
Overtime will be mandatory at times. Occasionally unexpected breakdowns will require working on non-normal work shifts. This is a 24/7 facility and night shift work may be required.
Major Tools used: Computer & programs for PLC access, Tachometers (mechanical & electronic), Hand tools (wrenches, sockets, gear pullers, etc.), Power tools (drills, saws, band saw, impact wrench, hydraulic press, grinder, porta power, etc.), Machine Shop Equipment (drill press, surface grinder), Forklifts, rigging equipment (slings, chain falls, ratchet come-a-longs, skates, etc.)
Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no supervisory responsibility.
Physical Demands: This position is heavily physically demanding. The incumbent must be able to frequently perform the following: stand, bend, crawl, stoop, twist, climb ladders, work from lifts/scaffolds up to 40 feet, and lift up to 50 lbs.
