You will join our Solutions for Industry department
As our new Controls & Automation Project Engineer you will be part of our Process Control & Data Solutions
(PCDS) team that supports all aspects of control system lifecycles across the diverse industries and systems of our varied clients.
Your key tasks and responsibilities will be:
Control Systems design: Lead hands-on, detailed design efforts on assigned projects from initial information
gathering through final implementation. Collaborate with other disciplines and participate in design reviews.
Verify system performance requirements are met.
PLC and HMI programming: Write original, well-structured code and make changes to existing code. Use
sound design practices to generate full system visualization, reporting, and alarming.
Architecture configuration: Configure industrial Ethernet networks. Configure physical and virtual computer
hardware/software. Create interconnections to client networks.
Commissioning and site work: Lead the start-up, troubleshooting, and acceptance testing of equipment both
locally and at customer sites. Field-tune systems and control algorithms. Troubleshoot non-functioning control
systems.
Documentation: Contribute to and interpret Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs). Generate process
control narratives and contribute to equipment Operation & Maintenance manuals.
Project management: Working with Project Managers to regularly update the Controls/SCADA portion of
project plans. Work proactively with Project Managers to address issues related to project schedule, budget,
or scope and develop appropriate solutions.
Organizational improvement: Act as a leader to support, promote, and improve department standards for
design and programming. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives. Mentor and train junior
engineers
