Pando Little School is hiring a motivated early childhood professional to support snack planning and prep, as well as provide classroom coverage. We are looking for friendly, flexible, and hard working applicants with prior experience in preschool/ECE. In this position, you will work alongside young children and educators in a Reggio Emilia inspired environment, where we encourage free play, project work, and social-emotional growth. Monday to Friday, 8:15am - 4pm, Wednesdays 8:15am - 5pm
Duties
- Plan weekly snack menus for children ages 2- to 5-years-old.
- Prep, plate, and disperse snack to classrooms, ensuring adherence to food safety standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized food prep environment, including storage of snack back stock.
- Communicate food orders to the Program Manager.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and administration to ensure the snack menu is of exceptional quality and within budget.
- Ensure all dietary restrictions and allergies are taken into account when preparing snacks.
- Support the school's transition to providing free and reduced lunches to all students.
- In addition to snack duties, provide classroom coverage as directed by administration.
Required Qualifications
- Strong communication skills with a friendly demeanor towards families, students, and team members.
- Prior experience working with young children, and a commitment to supporting warm, supportive relationships with all students.
- Familiarity with food safety practices and proper food handling techniques preferred, but not required.
- Willingness to assist in various roles as needed, demonstrating flexibility in a fast-paced environment.
- A proactive attitude towards maintaining cleanliness and organization.
- Willingness to complete required trainings.
