A college fraternity has opening, for a Housekeeping position. This is an hourly position Monday – Friday preferably from 6AM - 10AM (during University in-school schedule). The Housekeeper will have a primary responsibility for managing all aspects of the cleaning common areas of the fraternity house. Working closely with the House Director and the House Manager, the Housekeeper ensure that all common areas, restrooms and surfaces are clean, sanitary and comfortable environment for members and guests.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Sweep, scrub, mop and polish floors in all common areas
Vacuum clean carpets and rugs
Dust and polish furniture and fittings
Clean metal fixtures and fittings
Empty and clean trash containers
Dispose of trash in a sanitary manner
Clean wash basins, mirrors, tubs and showers
Wipe down glass surfaces
Wash windows as scheduled
Maintain all cleaning equipment and materials in a safe and sanitary working condition
Report any maintenance issues, safety issues or damage to the House Director
Realign furniture in common areas
With House Director identify, maintain and stock supply inventory to include the appropriate amounts of toilet paper, cleaning supplies, etc.
Complete other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Skills:
High school Diploma or GED equivalent required
Must pass criminal background check
Goal and team oriented, able to work closely with people while exhibiting a positive solution-focused attitude
Excellent organization, communication, conflict resolution and time/project management skills
Ability to interact professionally with members, campus administrators, parents, alumni, vendors, advisors and guests
Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to work with college-age men. Must have patience, flexibility and a sense of humor.
Lift and carry up to 25 lbs.
Ability to climb stairs
Stand 80% of the time while working
Kneel, bend and reach for items often
Work primarily indoors
Use cleaning equipment, such as vacuum cleaners, mop buckets, etc.
Work with some cleaning products that contain chemicals
