Senior Nurse Manager – RN
Dementia Specialty Campus
License: RN, 3 years experience as a minimum level of experience
Prefer experience in long-term care, psychiatric nursing, or geriatrics
Hours: 30-32 hours weekly
Direct Report: DON and COO
Wage Range: $40-45 hr
Primary Responsibilities:
1. Provide supervision and support to charge nurses on dementia care units for optimal caregiving using best practices with a moderate to advanced dementia population.
2. Provide mentoring and guidance to nurses and nursing assistants on best practices for behavior management for dementia residents.
3. Participate in daily tasks that provide for medical management in reducing risk and complications for residents with moderate to advanced dementia in conjunction with charge nurses on the unit.
4. Daily rounds to triage resident population into low and high risk with daily nursing changes to formulate daily tasks based on clinical assessment.
5. Interact and communicate with families, physicians and administrators on changing resident status and nursing interventions.
6. Discussing and teaching, while mentoring and modeling excellence to meet our Quality Assurance goal.
7. Team participation on an interdisciplinary team for residents with moderate and advanced dementia.
8. Clinical participation with Joint Commission responsibilities in maintaining certifications in assisted living and dementia care.
9. Data collection, analysis and operational input for best outcomes in nursing for a moderate and advanced dementia population.
10. Philosophy of ‘hands-on’ nursing to serve as a role model of resident interaction for other nurses and nursing assistants responsible for daily care.
11. Willingness to be flexible, creative and customer service oriented.
12. Provide nursing care directly to residents when the need arises as a participatory executive nurse.
