Position Overview:
Gateway Recruitment Agency is actively seeking a compassionate and dedicated Peer Worker to support a contract with the City of Albuquerque. This temporary role focuses on providing peer-based assistance and encouragement to individuals in the Albuquerque community. The position is based out of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and relocation expenses are not covered.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver peer-to-peer support by sharing personal experiences to help and motivate clients.
Conduct individual and group sessions to build trust and provide guidance within the community.
Offer resources, information, and referrals to local services, collaborating with other peer workers to support clients.
Help individuals identify and achieve personal goals, providing accountability and motivation.
Maintain clear, accurate records of client interactions while adhering to confidentiality standards.
Participate in required training sessions and engage in program activities to support continuous learning and improvement.
Candidate Qualifications:
Lived experience with challenges such as mental health, substance use, or housing instability, with a passion for helping others.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience in a peer support or similar role is highly desirable.
Excellent interpersonal skills, with an empathetic approach to diverse community members.
Knowledge of Albuquerque’s community resources, social services, and support networks is a plus.
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Commitment to confidentiality and maintaining client privacy.
