We are a well established Plaintiff solo practitioner firm who seeks a full-time paralegal with three to five years' experience, preferably experience in personal injury. Ideal candidate is bilingual English and Spanish.
Candidates with prior personal injury / nursing home abuse experience have preference.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Administrative duties - calendaring, drafting letters, scheduling client meetings, returning phone calls, updating client contact, opening and closing files etc.
Conduct prescreening on potential cases like investigating claims.
drafting pleadings, motions, orders and filing in both state and federal court.
creating trial notes books and mediation binders including all critical information.
Providing all levels of support like ordering medical records and bills, opening subrogation claims including medicaid and medicare, negotiating liens and subrogation's amounts while settlement processes are occurring.
Skills:
Proven working experience as a litigation paralegal
Applicable knowledge of motions, discovery, evidence, litigation documentation, court rules and procedures, practices etc
Highly organised with ability to juggle multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Strong writing and communication skills along with attention to detail
Extensive computer and database expertise
Command of Word
Two years of college education or paralegal associates degree or other relevant certification
