POSITION SUMMARY
The Continuous Improvement Manager is responsible for identifying, developing, implementing improvement projects within North America. Utilization of Lean and Six Sigma methodology and tools to achieve results, defect reduction, cost avoidance, risk mitigation and revenue enhancements to improve the effectiveness of the Operations area. Position will have significant leadership impact by providing technical direction and training opportunities for team members. Independent judgment necessary. Supervisor is usually available.
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
Identify and prioritize preventive & corrective improvement opportunities within North America that are linked to long-term business strategies.
Primary responsibility for successful implementation of identified and approved projects using Lean/Six Sigma methodology and tools (i.e., DMAIC, FMEA, 5S, Poka Yoke, etc.).
Develop program and structure to integrate Process Excellence and/or Lean concepts into the culture.
Provides and coordinates training and development in Lean concepts at various levels within organization. Develops technical skills and awareness throughout the organization.
Prepares Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as part of the project implementation, including corporate and departmental guidelines.
Collaborate with other regional Process Excellence subject matter experts within the company and local organizations.
Comprehend and adhere to all applicable GMP’s and SOP’s.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Requires a Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in Industrial Engineering or related technical field with a minimum of seven years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
Experience in the pharmaceutical or food industry is desired.
Black or Green Belt certification in Lean/Six Sigma (Black Belt preferred).
Minimum of three years’ experience in implementing Lean/Six Sigma projects in a manufacturing environment, with at least three kaizen or improvement events completed per year.

Ability to lift 50 lbs on a continuous basis.
Drug test and background investigation is required if offered the position after interview
