Lead Machinist - Be the Machining Mastermind

We're seeking a highly motivated Lead Machinist to join our team and play a vital role in our machine shop's success. In this leadership role, you'll be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our machining processes, while mentoring and guiding our team to achieve the highest quality standards.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with engineering on job costing and scheduling
Operate and set up CNC milling machines
Proficient with shop tools and manual machines
Develop, implement, and optimize machining processes for efficiency and quality
Foster a collaborative work environment, mentor less experienced machinists
Interpret engineering drawings, CAD files and technical specifications
Perform quality inspections and ensure all machined parts meet tolerances
Identify and troubleshoot machining problems, implementing solutions to minimize downtime
Maintain accurate documentation and records
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives
Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years of experience as a machinist, with proven success in a leadership role
Strong understanding of machining principles
Experience with common measuring tools and quality control procedures
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills
Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines
Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety
