Position Summary:
The Shipping Associate is responsible for daily shipping operations including LTL ("Less Than Truckload") shipments. This position is Monday-Friday, 9:00am-5:00pm and rotating Saturday’s from 10:00am-4:00pm. The company has just under 30 employees, and is a very friendly and inclusive work environment, so it's non-negotiable that you get along well with different personality types and remain professional at all times. This position is extremelydetail oriented, as you are shipping thousands of dollar's worth of material daily. Excellent attendance is critical. As a small business, the attention to detail and attendance is everything.You'll work with Microsoft Business Central (Dynamics) software. You'll have a paid lunch and opportunity for a little OT since Saturday shifts are rotated between the two shippers. This is not a temporary assignment, as our client would like to hire this person permanent after 90 days if you work out well.
Responsibilities include:
Receive and enter order details into shipping software.
Properly pack and label each order for UPS/USPS pickup.
Package and schedule FEDEX pickup when needed.
Process LTL’s to include pulling, packing, and wrapping pallet. (LTL’s are palletized shipments)
Enter details and schedule for pick-up.
Post invoice and file paperwork.
Order USPS boxes as needed.
Ability to lift 50 lbs. regularly.
Inform Purchasing when boxes, bubble wrap, tape, etc. inventory is low.
Maintain clean and organized shipping area.
Maintain clean and organized storage area in warehouse.
Daily cleaning to include sweeping, taking out trash, organizing area.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Previous warehouse experience.
Previous experience in shipping and/or manufacturing is a plus.
Forklift skills are desired, but client is willing to teach.
Good computer skills, able to learn programs quickly and experience with Microsoft products.
High school diploma/GED.
Valid driver’s license.
Ability to be standing 6-8 hours per day.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works in outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
