A downtown Santa Fe small business is looking for a Store Sales Associate.
We are a locally owned, downtown small business who are looking for a team member to work with us 4-5 days a week in a fun, retail environment. Weekend availability is a MUST. Training starts in January, full time position to start beginning of February.
Qualifications:
Previous retail experience is preferred but not required
This position’s schedule is 4 to 5 days a week, between Thursday through Monday or Friday through Tuesday
Winter hours are generally 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM and summer hours are generally 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM
Willing to learn and accept feedback
The ideal candidate for this Retail Store Associate position will possess a combination of skills, qualifications and experience that contribute to effective sales performance and customer service excellence
Familiarity with inventory stocking procedures, ensuring efficient and organized store operations
Basic mathematical skills are required for handling transactions, pricing, and inventory management
Exceptional communication abilities are crucial for building trust and rapport with customers, co workers, and store owners
Candidates should be comfortable and efficient in dynamic, high-energy settings
A positive attitude, dependable nature, gracious & hospitable personality, and punctuality are critical for this role
Availability to work a variety of shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays, accommodating the store's operational needs
An interest in and appreciation for our products and brand will be considered a valuable trait
The role involves physical tasks such as occasionally lifting objects up to 30 lbs., standing for extended periods including your entire shift, bending, using a ladder, and overall requiring good physical fitness
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
Basic math skills for accurate cash handling and transaction processing, as well as ability to count change back to our customers
Ability to work independently while maintaining an exceptional work ethic: holding yourself to high standards
Able to use POS system, familiarity using an iPad and iPhone, as well as troubleshooting technical difficulties
Responsibilities:
As a Retail Store Associate, your role encompasses a broad range of responsibilities aimed at enhancing our customer experience and driving sales efficiency
Greet and assist every customer in a friendly and professional manner
Provide in-depth product knowledge to help customers make informed purchases
Ensure that the sales floor is well-maintained, organized, clean and visually appealing
Process transactions accurately and efficiently using the point-of-sale system
Handle customer inquiries and resolve any issues or complaints effectively
Assist in inventory management, including restocking shelves and conducting counts
Have an eye for display and organization
Conducting routine inventory checks to ensure stock levels are maintained and accurately accounted for
