Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunityAlumni Relations and Development have an opportunity for a Fundraising Prospect Researcher, internally referred to as an Analyst – Prospect Development. This is a role that requires a combination of diligent online research skills and an awareness of the biggest philanthropists and their networks in New Zealand and beyond, in order to identify donors that can help the University reach its annual fundraising goal of $60m.In particular the role will support the Head of Principal Gifts as we seek to identify and understand the motivations of individuals with the capacity to make gifts in excess of $5m.  The role, working alongside two senior colleagues will also assist in the preparation of due diligence reports, prospect summary reports and work with our development managers in creating a balanced size and composition of their donor portfolios.This is a fulltime (37.5 hours per week), permanent opportunity, with a salary range of $85,000 - $90,000 depending on skills & experience.Please be aware this is not an academic research position.For more detailed information on the role, please review this Position Description.

He kōrero mōu | About youYou will have a high level of attention to detail, exhibit a high degree of professionalism, ethical sensitivity, confidentiality and discretion.  Familiarity with New Zealand’s higher profile members of business community and society would be a strong advantage.We are looking for someone with a tertiary or post graduate qualification that requires a synthesis of qualitative and quantitative analysis or an equivalent, alternate combination of relevant knowledge, training and/or experience.  Also a minimum of 5 years work experience in qualitative and/or quantitative research.Mō tō mātou rōpū | About the teamThe Alumni Relations and Development (ARD) office oversees the University’s alumni, philanthropic and community strategies. Our team includes Development and Alumni Relations personnel and a range of staff to support them and external Foundations by providing: events to gather together and celebrate our alumni and donors; web management, communications, research and development writing to reach out to our constituents and hear back from them; gift processing and database services to track gifts and alumni across the globe; and governance and investment services to external Foundations to support their stewardship and investment of the endowment fund.Important Skills | Nga Pūkenga MotuhakeExceptional written communication skillsAbility to manage conflicting priorities and coordinate multiple tasks in a high-pressure environment.Ability to work independently and also collaboratively in a team environment, organise workflow and meet deadlines.Knowledge of current best practice in prospect development and fundraising research methods.High level conceptual, analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to apply sound judgement to develop innovate research strategies.
