Radionix is seeking an Entry-Level Software Engineer at our facility located at 130 Perinton Parkway in Fairport, NY. In this role, you will join our engineering team to help design, develop, test, and support software used with intrusion alarm systems, connected security devices, cloud-based services, web applications, and customer-facing software platforms.This position is ideal for a motivated early-career engineer who wants to grow across cloud services, web applications, cybersecurity, IoT device communication, and modern software integration. You will work alongside experienced engineers in a structured product development environment and contribute to software used in real-time security and life-safety applications.Individuals in this role will participate in software implementation, verification, troubleshooting, device integration, and product launch activities while learning the architecture, development practices, and technologies used across Radionix security platforms.Primary ResponsibilitiesAssist with the design, development, and testing of application software, cloud services, and web-based tools used with intrusion alarm systems and connected security devices.Develop and maintain software components for web applications, cloud-based services, microservices, APIs, and customer-facing portals.Support integration between application software, cloud services, and Radionix hardware devices.Assist with development using technologies such as C#, .NET/.NET Core, React.js, SQL, REST APIs, messaging systems, and cloud services.Participate in a structured product development process, including requirements review, implementation, verification, defect resolution, and release support.Work with senior engineers to understand software architecture, service design, cybersecurity requirements, device communication patterns, and cloud application design.Modify existing software to correct defects, adapt to new interfaces, improve performance, and support new product capabilities.Assist with unit testing, integration testing, automated testing, and software verification activities.Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, design reviews, and sprint planning activities.Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, hardware engineers, test engineers, product owners, project managers, and technical support teams.Support investigation of field issues by helping analyze logs, reproduce defects, test fixes, and document findings.Learn and apply secure software development practices involving authentication, encryption, network communication, and secure cloud connectivity.Contribute to user interface updates, prototypes, and component development for customer-facing web portals and online services.Develop familiarity with IoT communication patterns involving connected devices, cloud services, event-driven architectures, and real-time system behavior.Use modern development tools, including source control, issue tracking, build pipelines, debugging tools, and AI-assisted development tools where appropriate.
