Classification Summary:

Manages and coordinates a major program or set of programs established to address a key area of specialized need within the University and the community. Provides advanced professional/technical leadership, consultation, and expertise within the program's area of focus, and administrative and functional management of the program's activities and staff. Sets strategic direction, develops and implements work scope; establishes funding, and provides operational planning, budgeting, and assessment.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Manages and coordinates PSL student program department with focus on regional expansion as part of the federally funded programs. Incumbent will provide technical leadership, curriculum development and oversight, staff management and liaison between PSL and government/industry customers. This position will oversee operational planning, manage program resources, acquire new resources and advance the program throughout the Army Test and Evaluation (ATEC) areas of responsibility and the southwest region. Provides representation both externally and internally to collaborate as the principal point of contact for all areas related to the student programs.

Primary liaison between the federal customer and PSL. Additionally, serve as interface between PSL and all subcontractors, program sponsors and students. Establishes program procedures to align with revenue generating income for both PSL and NMSU. Serve as lead facilitator for the CREW program and assist as a facilitator for the Defense Leadership Courses.

Special Requirements:

Academic Instructor Experience both in person and online

Curriculum Development Experience

Extensive understanding of National Security policy and procedures.

Must be a U.S. Citizen

This position is subject to random drug testing in compliance with its drug-free workplace requirements.

Valid Unrestricted Driver’s License is required for this position.

This position has been established as a primary key position under the “All Hazard Continuity of Operations Plan (COOP)” and is essential to operational continuity and/or recovery. In an emergency situation, primary key positions are required to report to work unless directed by supervisor or public safety authorities not to report for health and safety reasons. Ability to obtain and maintain secret clearance within 6 months of employment.
