For school credit and/or publication byline, and per diem:
Our local media company will be launching an online, lifestyle magazine in January 2025. The New Mexico focused publication will showcase the state's natural beauty, vibrant people, cutting edge industries, unique experiences, and much more.
In addition to featuring content staples by our staff writers, we're proud to extend several offers to motivated contributors. We aim to provide new and exciting content showcasing our great state - which will be marketed around the world.
In addition to copywriting, journalism, and creative writing experience, our interns will have opportunities to research state topics that may be of particular interest to them, individually. Interns will be encouraged to pitch their own ideas, and will be provided support in pursuit of their selected stories, and their assigned writing, e.g. introductions, credentials, etc.
Flexible workload, to be determined, ranging from 1 to 3 stories per month. Interns may be asked to edit each other's work. Some light admin duties may be required from time to time, such as publication related phone calls, scheduling, or company errands.
Assignment related expenses will be paid as a per diem, or reimbursed, as pre-approved by the company and agreed to by the intern.
Academic reporting criteria will be provided, as required for class credit. Published stories will be included in various company marketing and promotions. Interns may be asked to give media interviews in support of those promotions.
In this age of the remote newsroom, our interns will receive invaluable experience in a diverse and dynamic field. Opportunities for paid positions upon completion of internships are available.
