What You Will Do :The Lab invites you to join our Finance Operations (FIN-OPS) group, supporting financial operations, reporting and analysis for the Deputy Directorate for Operations (DDOPS).The position is responsible for assisting in the day-to-day budgeting activities and in preparing basic financial reports. Responsible for gaining an understanding of financial policies, procedures and usage of business systems. Formulates, distributes and maintains budgets for programs or organizational units using actual performance, previous budget figures, estimated funding, expense reports, and other data sources to control funds and provide for proper financial administration. Prepares financial plans, monitors implementation of financial policies, prepares regular and special-purpose reports, maintains historical records, analyzes trends, establishes cost plans and labor & non-labor forecasts, recommends and interprets budgetary policies and procedures, prepares comparative evaluation of actual costs against budgeted funds, and determines rationale for variances between costs and budget.What You NeedMinimum Job Requirements:Finance/Accounting ExperienceBasic knowledge of financial concepts, including financial planning and analysis, budget formulation and execution, business analysis, and general business operations. Skill in analyzing financial data and providing financial guidance and alternatives/recommendations to customers. General understanding of Federal Cost Accounting Standards, Federal Acquisition Regulations, and appropriations law.
Experience with Government Contractors which could include a National Laboratory or a National Nuclear Security Administration/Department of Energy facility.
