Columbia University’s Pre-College Programs for high school students is seeking qualified candidates to develop and teach on-campus courses during Summer ’26. Reporting to the Senior Director of Instruction and Curriculum for Pre-College Programs, Pre-College instructors develop and deliver immersive non-credit courses for high-achieving high school students. This intensive three-week course offers high school students a hands-on, college-level introduction to Anatomy and Physiology, exploring the structure and function of the human body’s major systems. We invite you to explore the wonders of anatomical structures and their physiological functions, and to discover how body systems interact to maintain balance, respond to stress, and support life.Through interactive lectures, group activities, laboratory investigations, and real-world case studies, students will examine the musculoskeletal, cardiovascular, respiratory, digestive, nervous, and endocrine systems. This course emphasizes the interconnectedness of body systems and encourages critical thinking about health, disease, and performance.Students will build foundational knowledge in human biology, develop observation and problem-solving skills, and gain experience in a simulated college classroom and lab environment, an ideal primer for future studies in healthcare, sports science, medicine, or biology.Prerequisite: One year of high school biology.Course Schedule
