Big Brothers Big Sisters of New Mexico Donation Center is hiring a part time employee to do Roswell area pick up's of donated items. Most donations will be clothing and small household item from our Donation Bins. This job requires you to use your own pickup truck and to pull a company 8’ enclosed trailer. The job is part time with flexible hours.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Title: Roswell NM Donation Assistant

Supervisor: Donation Center Manager

Objective: Responsible for customer service in the community involving picking up donations from our donation bins using your personal truck and pilling a Big Brothers Big Sisters enclosed trailer that is 8’ long. You will be storing those donations in a local storage unit. You will represent Big Brothers Big Sisters Donation Center professionally through timely adherence to emptying and maintaining appearance of donation bins in the Roswell and surrounding areas.

Salary: $10.25 / hr. You will also be paid mileage for the use of your vehicle.

Pay increases will be considered based on scheduled performance reviews and shall be determined by the incumbent's ability to regally meet goals, subject to agency funding levels.

Status: Part-time, hourly (10-25 hrs per week), non-exempt.

Responsibilities

:• Work on designated days as set by manager and as needed to keep bins clean and clear of donations.

• Must have a vehicle capable of putting an enclosed 8’ long trailer

• Make all scheduled stops. Pick up all donations including trash.

• Keep all bins and BBBS property clean and neat.

• Record activity of each stop accurately.

• Report to Donation Center via phone or internet when beginning and ending the day's route.

• Deliver all donations to storage location (unless told otherwise by management) and assist with loading the truck when it comes to Roswell on such designated days as needed.

• Communicate all concerns with the route via phone or internet as required.

• Maintain a neat appearance and professional, courteous conduct with all members of the public.

• Use personal vehicle to pick up donations.

• May need to use a computer to make reports or deliver paperwork on a regular basis to local BBBS office. Delivery of Goods

• Lift heavy objects in/out of personal vehicle.• Load items onto donation center truck.

• Unload items into storage areas, as needed. Other Duties as Assigned

Qualifications

Required

• Must be at least 21 years of age.

• Must have a reliable vehicle capable of pulling an enclosed 8’ long trailer

• Must be able to work harmoniously with BBBS personnel, donors, clients, volunteers and others.

• Must be able to successfully organize and monitor the completion of tasks.

• Demonstrated organizational and interpersonal skills.

• Able and willing to work an irregular and flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends, based on the heaviness of the bins.

• Must pass a pre-employment physical and drug test. A drug test may be required after a traffic incident. May be drug tested at any time with or without warning.

• Be able to lift and carry:Objects: various shapes and sizes.Distances: up to 25 feet at one time.Weight: 1 to 25 pounds frequently. Some objects may be heavier - infrequently.Lift: from the floor to a height of 34" (truck cargo box floor) and to a height of 70" (for stacking merchandise inside storage unit or cargo box).

• Be subject to criminal background check.

• Must have valid NM driver's license, clear MVD record, proof of insurance.
