Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Bookkeeper to manage and maintain the financial records of Santa Fe Birth Center. The Bookkeeper will be responsible for handling accounting tasks, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, and providing accurate financial information to support the center’s operations and mission.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain and manage all financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
Process invoices, expense reports, and reimbursements.
Reconcile bank statements and ensure accuracy in financial record-keeping.
Maintain financial reports, budgets, and financial projections to assist with the center’s strategic planning.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for the leadership team and board of directors.
Ensure compliance with nonprofit accounting standards and reporting requirements, including tax filings and audit preparation.
Collaborate with the administrative team to ensure proper allocation of grants and donations.
Monitor cash flow and prepare financial forecasts as needed.
Assist in the development of annual budgets in collaboration with the Executive Director and Administrative Director.
Liaise with external auditors and financial advisors when necessary.
Qualifications
Proven experience as a bookkeeper, preferably within a nonprofit or healthcare setting.
Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks or similar is required.
Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
Familiarity with nonprofit financial management and grant reporting.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with diverse teams.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred but not required.
