We are looking for a longterm land manager for a 6 acre property on a river flowing through lawns, multiple gardens, fields of grass and hay, irrigation ditches, ponds, and numerous varieties of big trees. This person needs to be a great lover of the earth, someone with years of experience using, maintaining and repairing John Deere mowers, hand mowers, weed whackers, chain saws, sawzals, pruning sheers, oscillators and all manner of land tools. Job requires someone with high emotional intelligence who will work alongside and easily manage staff, maintaining an up-tone work environment. This will be the dream job for the person we are looking for because the property is wonderful, varied, and truly sacrednature at its most beautiful. 3-4 days a week, 6 hours a day, March through November every year. We want someone who will be with us and return seasonally for at least 5 years. There is some work during the winter like snow shoveling and chopping kindling. But hours are greatly reduced.
The person we hire would be expected to train under the current land manager for the remainder of the season (through November) for a reduced wage.something like $25/hour and then be raised to a monthly salary beginning in March, 2025.
