Customer Service Representatives provide both the first and last contact most visitors have with the New Mexico History Museum. They provide initial information about admission costs, hours of operation, exhibitions, and public programs. They are responsible for resolving problems. addressing special needs. and responding to inquiries so visitors may have the best possible on-site experience.
Customer Service Representatives help welcome tour groups and classes of students, facilitate access for special events, and support work of other museum staff such as lead cashier (lead customer service representative), security guards, and special events coordinator. They collect admission fees in accordance with established guidelines, document information about visitors, and are accountable for balanced accounts at the end of every workday. They support sale of the DCA Culture pass as well as memberships with the Museum of New Mexico Foundation.
Customer Service representatives use computers, telephones, and other technology extensively in their work. They are expected to carry out ticketing functions in accordance with DCA and New Mexico History Museum standards, guidelines, and policies. This position serves as the lead cashier at the New Mexico History Museum. This person will work the front desk, address visitor issues and complaints, assess front desk operations and identify areas of potential improvement, assist with special projects throughout the museum, and provide administrative support for the Financial Specialist Supervisor and Administrative Assistant.
