Garcia Street Club, a 5-Star, nationally-accredited preschool, located on the historic east side of Santa Fe for almost 80 years, is seeking an experienced preschool teacher. We're looking for a motivated, friendly, and experienced teacher to join us as an Assistant Teacher or Co-Lead (depending on qualifications) in our Pre-K classroom. Our Reggio Emilia-inspired program is hands-on, play-based, and deeply rooted in social-emotional learning. Compensation is dependent upon experience and education.
Ideal candidate will have a minimum of an Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or the equivalent number of credit hours in ECE or a related field in addition to at least one year of experience teaching young children in a play-based environment, plus solid communication skills, a strong work ethic, and a positive attitude. Solid knowledge of social-emotional development and sensory-rich emergent curriculum is a plus!
Job Responsibilities:
Work with co-teacher to implement well-rounded, project-based curriculum
Support children in providing a safe, loving, organized, and enriching classroom environment
Maintain documentation of children’s learning, including photos, video, and anecdotes
Provide ongoing assessment of children’s developmental milestones
Maintain positive relationships and open communication with families
Skills Required:
Ability to work well with team
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workplace
Strong written and oral communication skills
Solid knowledge of developmentally-appropriate practice, classroom management, positive discipline and guidance
