We are a small, home-based childcare setting in Santa Fe offering a calm, nurturing, Montessori-inspired environment for young children ages 2-4.
As our teacher, you'll guide a mixed-age group of up to 5 children (including two resident children) through play, discovery, and meaningful hands-on learning.
This role is ideal for someone who believes in respectful, child-led education, and finds joy in watching children explore at their own pace.
Responsibilities
Prepare and maintain a beautiful, orderly, and developmentally appropriate learning environment
Lead small-group and individual Montessori-inspired activities
Support social-emotional growth and peaceful conflict resolution
Observe children and adapt materials or activities to their interests and needs
Collaborate with the parent/director to maintain routines and communication
Assist with transitions, toileting, and light snack preparation as needed
Qualifications Required:
Experience working with young children (infant to preschool age)
Deep respect for children and belief in their natural desire to learn
Calm, patient, and grounded presence
Strong communication and reliability
Preferred:
Montessori training or certification (AMI, AMS, or Montessori-inspired experience)
CPR/First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain)
Experience in mixed-age classrooms or home-based programs
Familiarity with positive discipline or RIE/Pikler methods
