JOB SUMMARY
The responsibility of the Doorperson is to ensure the facility maintains legal compliance by not allowing minors into the drinking establishment, ensuring that all visitors have valid identification, and deny access to guests who may be under the influence. The Doorperson is also responsible for administering crowd control without appearing threatening and ensuring that everyone is safe and has a good time, but within established limits. Must remain professional at all times, have a positive, friendly attitude and enjoy interacting with guests and employees.
JOB DUTIES
1. Greet guests in a friendly and welcoming manner as they enter the building
2. Monitor guests by checking IDs, be able to identify false identification and screen for guests who may be under the influence
3. Give directions and keep an eye out for suspicious activity in and around the building
4. Being alert and keeping the entrance safe
5. Must be able to answer some basic questions about the downtown vicinity
6. Communication: make sure nobody is acting aggressively or destructively. If someone is acting in a dangerous or unseemly manner, inform manager and together warn that person and, if needed ask them to leave
7. Decision making: need to be able to determine what to do quickly before a situation gets out of control and possibly communicate with the police if an altercation happens
8. Deal with emergencies in a calm and effective manner
9. Cooperate with police, emergency medical responders and management
10. Be knowledgeable with all equipment and in all areas of the operation in the event of an emergency breakdown
11. Be current on legal issues and legislated regulations pertinent to the Inn of the Governors / Del Charro
12. Perform any other duties assigned by Shift Supervisor, F&B Director, or GM
QUALIFICATIONS
Physical Requirements
1. Constant standing and walking for up to 10 hours.
2. Must be able to lift and carry a maximum of 50 pounds.
3. Works in a fast paced and noisy environment.
4. Must be able to work late nights, weekends and holidays
License and Certification
1. Must possess or complete within three weeks of hire, NM Alcohol Server Certification
2. CPR and First Aid Certification preferred (on-site training is provided)
3.
Education and Experience
1. Prior Door/Bar experience preferred
2. Bilingual desirable

2. Ability to calmly and effectively diffuse any confrontational issues with internal and external customers.
