Front Of House Host/Floater is an entry level position. This position is dedicated to up-keeping, bussing and hosting duties, as well as completing side work in a timely and efficient manner. You will simultaneously be a welcoming face when guests enter the restaurant, and be supportive to serving staff assisting them with several aspects of service.

Duties and Responsibilities include:
Prior to service:
Set up the host stand. Insure menus are clean, tidy, and up to date.
Resolve any seating solves: like setting up tables for large parties.
Attend and participate in our pre-shift meeting, where you will learn more details about the menu including specials.
Fill and light oil burning lamps and candles.
Insure water bottles are filled, and the service station is appropriately stocked.
During service:
Maintain a clean, organized and inviting host stand.
Greet guests in a welcoming manner.
Use OpenTable to strategically seat reservations and walk-ins throughout the restaurant.
Inform servers and management of any notes, birthdays, or any special occasions.
Clean all tables and reset them appropriately.
Assist servers in pre-bussing tables between courses, and prior to receiving their check.
Assist servers in marking silverware, plates, and glassware between courses.
Carry bus tubs from the service station to the kitchen, replace with empty tubs.
Use OpenTable to update the status of tables to appropriately quote wait times.
Using our position numbers, accurately deliver food to tables.
Continuously restock silverware, glass ware, and water bottles in the appropriate places.
After service:
Clean and restock restrooms.
Bring in all patio chairs from front porch, and stack chairs in back patio.
Take out trash upstairs, behind the bar, downstairs, bathrooms and back patio.
Sweep upstairs, behind the bar, downstairs retail and dining areas, and bathrooms.
Mop upstairs, behind the bar, downstairs retail and dining areas, and bathrooms.
Assist servers with filling water bottles, stamping cups, or any other EOD duties.
Assist dishwasher with polishing silverware and glassware.
