Local Santa Fe, New Mexico Dental Practice is looking for a full time dental assistant. We follow a comprehensive and high quality practice model, focusing on patients' long term dental health, including more advanced dental hygiene and periodontal procedures. We have a very clean and modern practice. We need a motivated dental assistant, interested in long term employment. Hours Mon-Thursday 7:30-5:00. Pay is based on education and experience. Current Dental Assisting license with radiology certification required.
Job Duties and responsibilities:
Prepare and maintaining dental instruments, supplies and equipment
X Rays (Pano, FMX, IntraOral, Periapical, etc.)
Collecting and recording patient health histories
Prevention of blood-borne diseases in compliance with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), the American Dental Association (ADA) and comply with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)
Instrument cleaning, sterilization/disinfection and re-dressing rooms
Preparation of dental materials, cements, composite, impression materials, etc.
Instruct proper home care techniques, specifically crafted for each patient
Dental Software knowledge (Eagelsoft preferred)
Thoroughly review health history, notating contraindications and other health concerns as needed
Maintain and document records of treatments/conditions of patients on a daily basis
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
