Live-in home Caregiver needed for an 88 year old woman, Barbara. She has poor eyesight and is starting to have memory issues. This is not some easy job. This job requires patience and understanding. I have been the Caregiver for 3 months and I will be leaving in 1 month. Extra pay will be offered for Registered Nurse or someone with Alzheimer's and or memory loss experience. The family all lives out of state and they really don't understand how much help Barbara needs. Barb herself doesn't accept that she needs a Caregiver. She calls it a roommate.
Offering 3000 per month and a room with a patio and private entrance. You have your own bathroom but have to share the shower with Barbara. She has multiple showers but she prefers the one in your room. Very nice house in Las Barrancas neighborhood. Safe and calm part of town. There is also a dog. Do not take this job if you can't be a good dog owner as well. Barbara needs help with dog training. I have been unsuccessful. He is the sweetest Basenji/ Chihuahua mix and his only issue is the potty training. Sometimes he trys to get in laps a little too often as well. He was a rescue and clearly had been through something horrible. Really a sweet dog though. If you drive and have a car, that is a plus but not a requirement. The job is hands on from 7/8am to 7/8pm. After bed will be your off time. Good high speed internet at the home. You'll also be off from 9am to 1pm on Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday as well. She has scheduled visitors that come these days. Barb will fall or hurt herself if she is alone. It has happened 4 times in 3 months with me and I barely left her alone. That was back when we all thought she could be alone a few hours a day. The family and I agree, at this point she shouldn't be alone for more than an hour each day.
I will meet you at a coffee shop or restaurant first before you meet Barbara.
3k per month plus room and utilities for 24/7 care. Nursing not needed yet but probably not far off. This is good for someone in online schooling or working on a home business. Barb is open to a couple living with her. There is enough space for 3. I am the one in the picture.
