Our fast-paced medical practice and MedSpa, specializing in varicose vein surgery, is searching for a full-time certified Medical Assistant in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Ideal candidates are personable, friendly, energetic and professional. The position requires the following skills and responsibilities:
*Must have a Medical Assistant degree
*Room patients and take vital signs
*Obtain patient medical history
*Document medical encounters in our electronic medical records system
*Assist with venous duplex ultrasound exams
*Set up the sterile field and prepare patients for vein procedures
*Assist the surgeon during varicose vein procedures
*Prepare medications
*Sterilize surgical instruments
*Sterilize and restock the surgical suite on a daily basis
*Measure patients and fit them in compression stockings
*Educate patients regarding vein procedures and post-procedure instructions
*Order medical supplies
*Contact medical insurance companies to obtain prior authorizations
*Contact medical insurance companies regarding patients' financial information
*Help organize and attend our office's promotional events
*Must have or be willing to obtain phlebotomy skills
*Must be helpful and respectful to fellow employees and patients
