The sterilization technician prepares instruments and equipment for scheduled procedures and monitors the sterilizing equipment. The technician maintains control of the inventory of all tools, instruments and equipment in the sterilization demonstrates knowledge and proficiency in all tasks and responsibilities in the surgical department and provides technical assistance when needed.
Sterilization of instruments – both surgical and hygiene.
Oversee the inventory and contents of the sterilization room.
Restocking of supplies in treatment rooms.
Lubrication of surgical and implant hand pieces.
Preparation and cleanup of treatment rooms for surgical procedures.
Assist co-workers in the clinical and hygiene departments in tasks such as disinfection of treatment rooms and assisting with charting with both clinical and hygiene departments
Cleaning of sterilizer monthly and weekly test strip monitoring of sterilizers
Demonstrates knowledge of and supports, company mission, vision, value statements, standards, policies and procedures, operating instructions, confidentiality standards, and the code of ethical behavior
in the clinical department.
