Position: Psychotherapist (Spanish/English Bilingual Preferred)

Hours: Full time, 36 hours a week. Exempt

Pay Range Salary: minimum 5 years of experience $55,000-$60,000

Who we are:

Solace Sexual Assault Services has been the regional full-service sexual assault services provider for over 50 years. Solace has three core Services:

1) The Clinical Department provides crisis stabilization, assessment, and therapy to restore strengthand a sense of safety to individuals who have experienced sexual violence and other violent crimes.

2) The Child Advocacy Center/Sexual Assault Services Department supports survivors of violencethrough case tracking, advocacy during sexual assault nurse exams or reporting to law enforcement,resource referrals, and court support. The department is also a nationally accredited Child AdvocacyCenter that conducts forensic interviews of child victims of sexual or physical abuse.

3) The Education & Prevention Department’s engages in acts of cultural change through providingcomprehensive sexual violence prevention programming, technical assistance, and policy advocacyto schools, government agencies, and community organizations.

4) Solace co-houses with the Santa Fe Police Department’s Special Victims Unit, Christus St. Vincent’sSexual Assault Nurse Exam Unit, and the New Mexico Immigrant Law Center.

Position Summary:

The Psychotherapist provides evidence-based treatment and complex trauma psychotherapy treatment to all survivors (adult and children) of sexual violence, as well as to non-offending family members, guardians, and other close supporters. Complex Trauma treatment is the primary treatment provided along with adjunctive therapies in at least one of the following areas: EMDR, EFT, Hypnosis, Somatic Experiencing, Brain spotting, Trauma Resilience Model and/or Art Therapy.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide primary therapy for survivors of sexual violence, non-offending family members, partners,guardians or loved ones (ages 3 and above).

Provide emergency/crisis intervention.

Co-facilitate psychoeducation groups.

Employ strategies of intervention that are evidence-based, trauma-informed and are culturallyappropriate.

Work closely with Clinical Team members to identify the needs of clients and their support systems.

Participate in weekly supervision with or as assigned by the Clinical Manager.

Complete billing and other related administrative paperwork in accordance with program timelines and standards.

Effectively coordinate client care with other service providers and community resources to ensure continuity of care.

Maintain client files in accordance with agency policy and procedures.

Participate in weekly supervision and Clinical Team meeting.

Comply with state and federal privacy & security standards including HIPAA, VOCA/VAWA.

Provide agency with updated licensure and CEU information.

Maintain and provide proof of auto insurance as use of personal vehicle required for essential job functions.

Enhance proficiency in Complex Trauma treatment and other clinical modalities.

Obtain or provide National Provider Identification Number.

Performs other duties as assigned by Clinical Manager.

Required Qualifications:

Master’s degree in counseling, social work or related field.

NM Licensure as LMHC, LPC, LPCC, LMSW, LISW, or LMFT.

Experience using evidence-based modes of therapy.

Demonstrated skills and abilities in providing behavioral healthcare to adults, children, adolescents, and families.

Ability to abide by all mandatory reporting statutes.

Ability to hold confidential information, use good judgment, and exercise awareness of other people’s needs.

Ability to serve clients with compassion, a belief that they are the experts in their own healing, and with strong professional boundaries.

Ability to work with clients from a variety of cultural and socio-economic backgrounds.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Maintain reliable transportation and current automobile insurance.

Ability to work with clients from a variety of cultural and socio-economic backgrounds.

Computer literacy in Windows-based applications.

Spanish/English Bilingual Preferred

Must pass the CYFD Childcare background clearance for employment and re-pass again in three years.

Completion of the US DOJ-OJP OVCTACC online Victims Advocacy Training (VAT) and CYFD Trauma Informed Training within 90 Days of hire.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicles. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate. The passage of employees through the work area is average and normal.

This position includes a combination of in-office, on site, and remote work. The technology to fulfill these duties will be provided and maintained by Solace.

Physical Demands:

While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is required to communicate with clients, community and/or stakeholders/community partners.

The employee is expected to be able to communicate via electronic methods and use Microsoft software.
