Duties/Responsibilities: This full time employee performs a variety of skilled and semi-skilled tasks maintaining and repairing The Santa Fe Opera ranch grounds and buildings.
This includes basic maintenance of the interior and exterior of the office building and rehearsal halls; plowing and shoveling snow; irrigating, mowing and raking lawns; cutting and pruning trees; sweeping and mopping the rehearsal areas; painting and general carpentry; any variety of general maintenance tasks. The job may include helping the Ranch Maintenance Supervisor with swimming pool maintenance tasks. Supervisor may assign other duties.
Employment Standards
Knowledge:
Should be familiar with both hand and power tools used in grounds and building maintenance.
Requires general familiarity with basic landscaping and maintenance procedures.
Genera knowledge of HVAC and plumbing
Skills:
Must be able to speak English.
Must be able to drive a motor vehicle (manual transmission is a plus).
Driving with a snow plow
Ability to use a tractor
Licenses:
Possession of a valid motor vehicle operators license and a clean driving record is a requirement.
Verification of eligibility to work in this country is required.
Hours/Restrictions:
40 hours per week. Hours over 40 per week paid at time and a half. Weekend work is typical during the summer season.
Physical Standards:
Must be able to lift up to 80 pounds occasionally and 20 pounds frequently. Walking and physical activity is required. A uniform shirt is required and will be provided.
