Disabled Artist Seeks Support for Non-Toxic Household
Seeking a compassionate, diligent, dependable person for weekly household assistance, dog care, errands, and more to join our small team.
TASKS:
Caring for a very sweet 25lb dog (walking, grooming, etc)
Driving the dog (and sometimes the human) to appointments
Taking notes and tracking information as needed
Cooking bulk batches of dog food
Grocery shopping
Running errands
Physical assistance with lifting, carrying, etc
Some light cleaning and laundry
Other miscellaneous assistance, depending on skill/interest (ie. email support, inventory, and more)
YOU MUST:
Be fluent in English, both spoken and written
Be organized, detail oriented, and adept at following directions
Love dogs and have experience caring for them
Be dependable, trustworthy, and able to commit to the job for at least one year
Be able to accommodate someone with noise, chemical, and electrical sensitivities; this includes using no scented personal products (ie. perfume, hair products, deodorant), or clothing with scented laundry detergent
Leave your cell phone and other electronics off, on airplane mode, or in the car while working near me (okay to have on during walks, errands, etc.)
Be physically able to perform required tasks (ie. carry groceries and packages, lift/carry large glass water jugs, etc.)
Be comfortable with and able to incorporate feedback
Be flexible… While you will have a set weekly schedule, flexibility is a must to allow coverage for other team members in case of emergency or planned time off (with the knowledge that the same flexibility for time off will be afforded to you!)
Hours: Approximately 10-35hrs, across 3-7 days per week.
Schedule: Shifts would generally begin around noon or later, and noon is the ideal time for dog walking. While not required, ideally, we’d love to find someone who could take the dog for an hour-long walk 5-7 days of the week (in addition to the other tasks).
Exact days/hours are highly negotiable until a set weekly scheduled is agreed upon. This could include a mix of 1hr-8hr shifts, depending on how many days/hours you choose to work weekly. As noted above, flexibility is both requested from you and afforded to you in case of illness, emergencies, vacations, etc.
Location: Primary location is my home, near Harry’s Roadhouse— and out and about in Santa Fe for errands. Some work would also be done in our office located off Rodeo and St. Francis.
Compensation: $20/hr to start, with the opportunity for raises and promotions. Employees must complete a W-4 and are paid biweekly via ADP. Mileage during work hours (for errands, etc) is reimbursed at the standard national rate.
Fine Print:
You must have a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation (ideally 4WD/AWD), and live in (or within 30min of) Santa Fe
Professional references, a background check, and a signed nondisclosure agreement are required
