We are looking for an assistant technician to be trained to work on landscaping, water, and wastewater systems. Starting pay $20-$28/hour depending on qualifications. Advancement possibility up to $30+/hour.
40-50 hours per week most of the year, 30-40 hours per week in winter,
DUTIES INCLUDE:
Assist in operating and maintaining water systems including testing chlorine, recording flow meters, maintaining dosing pumps, valves, plumbing, etc…
Assist in operating and maintaining wastewater systems including maintaining treatment facilities, lift/pump stations, controls, filters, plumbing, manholes, valves, etc…
Following operational and monitoring guidelines in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations.
Repair pumps and various equipment. (After properly trained)
Perform after hours ‘emergency’ work as required. (2X hourly rate)
Locate underground utilities. (After properly trained)
Excavating, repairing, backfilling equipment, sewer, and electrical lines using hand and mechanical methods.
Communicate with clients in a professional manner.
Communicate with others in company on a daily basis to coordinate work and billing.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Valid, unrestricted, New Mexico Driver License and clean driving record.
Hardworking, self motivated, and detail oriented.
Excellent customer service skills.
Must be able to work alone, and work well with others.
Water and wastewater operators certification a plus, but not required.
REQUIREMENTS:
Must have your own vehicle to get to the office. We provide transportation to and from job sites.
Must be able to operate a variety of hand and power tools.
Must be able to work outside 8 hours/day.
Able to read and speak English. Spanish language skills a plus.
Must have your own smart phone.
Must be able to lift 100 lbs off the ground, 50 lbs over your head, and your own body weight as if climbing out of a small access hole.
NO FELONIES. We work for Public Schools and a background check will be performed.
