Job Title: Farmers Market Manager
Location: Santa Fe Farmers Market, Ground Stone Farm booth
Job Type: 15-20 hrs/ week. Saturday market, Tuesday market
Compensation: $18-$20/ hour plus commission based on sales performance
About Us: Ground Stone Farm, etablished in 2018, uses ecological practices to grow a variety of crop, but are well known for our Lettuces, Baby Carrots, Greens, Tomatoes and Cucumbers. We sell our produce through the Santa Fe Farmers Market, La Montañita Co-Op, Squash Blossom Local Food, and a few other outlets. We are inspired by the rich agricultural traditions of the land here in northern New Mexico, while employing new techniques to grow nourishing and exciting food for our community.
Job Overview: We are seeking an enthusiastic and organized Farmers Market Manager to oversee our presence at local farmers markets. This role involves managing market operations, engaging with customers, handling sales, and ensuring a smooth and efficient market experience.
Key Responsibilities:
-Get Truck/Trailer at drop off in Santa Fe. Set up and break down the farmers market booth, ensuring a visually appealing and organized display.
-Manage on-site sales, handle cash and credit card transactions, and maintain accurate financial records.
-Provide excellent customer service by engaging with customers, answering questions about our products, and sharing our farm's story.
-Track inventory levels, restock products as needed, and report sales data to the farm owner.
-Train and oversee any additional market staff or volunteers.
Qualifications:
-Passion for local, sustainable agriculture and community engagement.
-Strong sales skills along with organizational and time-management skills
-Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
-Ability to lift and carry heavy items (up to 50 lbs) and work the booth in various weather conditions.
-Experience with sales, farmers markets, or retail preferred.
-Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Schedule:
Saturday 5am-2, (April - November) Tuesdays 6am-2 (May-Oct)
