employment type: full-time (4 day work weeks possible part of year)
JFD (www.santafeframing.com) A specialized Framing Company in Santa Fe is currently accepting applications. Will train the right People for these positions but must be willing to learn, work with team, be able to handle responsibility and constant deadlines.
Matting Room:
o Fitting various type of art
o Handmade fabric mounting
o stretch canvases
o Matt cutting
o Various methods of mounting, hot / cold
o Pack works finished for shipping. .
o manage workflow for department.
o Must work with others with lots of deadlines
o Maintain inventory
Wood Room:
Will train the right person for this position (This is a very busy shop with demanding deadlines)
Job will include the following tasks:
o Full understanding of custom frame orders in order to facilitate frame production process
o Chop join sanding of frames
o Accurate measuring skills
o Custom framing terminology
o Frame joining skills; as well as, woodworking skills to include:
o learn proper table saw, router, shaping and sanding methods
o Operation of Frame Square miter saw
o Learn wood milling techniques (Table saw & Router) Learn to shape wood from 2d renderings.
o Inventory Management.
o Must be able to maintain tools and keep a clean work space, as well as weekly maintenance of equipment.
