. Queer-friendly builders, carpenters, handy persons, land/ animal caretakers::: we have a unique work-trade offer.
We are two queer musicians/ friends that steward 10 acres in Abiquiu, NM, with several private and communal spaces and 4 friendly wolf hybrids. As winter approaches, there is need for an additional land/ pup caretaker, with building/ carpentry skills to help on a couple projects across the next 3 to 6 months.
We can offer free housing in our 1-room furnished shed, with running water, electricity, WiFi, wood stove, and close walking proximity (30') to an outdoor compost privy, outdoor kitchen (@ 100'), private bath/ shower facilities (@ 50'), and washer/ dryer unit (@ 50'). All utility and wood (for wood stove) cost included.
Happy to discuss additional pay for your labor beyond 8 hours a week. Skill level, tools, etc, will determine compensation. Our projects include further building of this cute shed space, an additional room to a separate Tiny Home, occasional handy-person needs, development of a studio, and potential for more!
Lots of privacy, quiet, spaciousness and opportunity to naturally connect with the land and broader community (if interested).
A kind note: most importantly we are seeking someone we can get along with and build/ co-dwell in a spirit of respect and care. For now, we can offer temporary free housing (with high potential for paid work beyond weekly hours). 3 to 6 months to start, and open to considering longer stays for the right fit.
