An independent bookstore seeks a part-time assistant and marketer for our rare and used book division in Santa Fe. Barbara's Collectibles is the new book division of Barbara's Bookstore, a Chicago-based bookstore chain selling books since 1963. We have a broad collection of rare and used titles, with specializations in Southwestern topics, American history, and 20ᵗʰ Century literature. Our division mostly sells online, though we occasionally invite customers to browse our collection by appointment.
Our ideal candidate for this role is sophisticated and curious, with an encyclopedic mind and great attention to detail. An enthusiasm for literature is a big plus! General Tasks:
Researching book provenance and publishing history
Photographing and editing photos of books
Creating content for Instagram and Facebook
Responding to customers via email and social media
Preparing and shipping orders
Updating and maintaining a working knowledge of online inventory
Coordinating with Chicago-based staff
Necessary Skills:
Ability to lift 45 lbs.
Photography and photo-editing skills
Experience using online shop software or willingness to be trained
Experience with customer service in a retail setting
Must love dogs (we have one black mutt - our Supervisor Banksy - who we love very much)
