Searching for an assistant to help run my (small) jewelry design business. I have been in the jewelry business for 24 years (16 in San Francisco and 8 in Santa Fe) with a significant online business and wholesale to stores (6-8) as well as personal clients.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1/ Online Sales – Most sales occur online through sales “events” held 2-3 times per month. Duties include working with an e-commerce specialist to set up sales events by preparing/uploading information, and reviewing it prior to sale. This also involves processing online and telephone orders, managing shipping to customers, and shipping ordered goods to stores. Additionally, tasks include preparing invoices and tracking payments.
2/ In-Store & In-Person Sales – Other sales come from stores or special in-person sales events. Must be comfortable interacting with customers/existing collectors and clients.
3/ Shipments to Mexico - Coordinate and prepare international invoices and shipping labels
4/ Maintain Office Supplies – Monitor and order as needed
5/ Prepare quarterly tax information for the bookkeeper
6/ Customer Care – Communicate, when needed, with customers over email and phone to address any inquiries, answer questions, and help with returns
7/ Participate in brainstorming for business growth
8/ Ordering raw goods for designs
9/ Overseeing product inventory
Skills & Qualifications:
- Proficient with PC and on the web
- Able to monitor the back end of the company website (set up in Wix)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
- Good telephone skills and strong commitment to gracious customer service
- Familiar with Wix (or able to learn)
- Familiar with Canva (or able to learn)
- Social media experience and graphic design are a plus!
Working Conditions:
- Pay is $25/hour
- 3 days/week with flexibility for additional days based on varying project needs.
- The office is in my artful home in a safe and lovely Santa Fe neighborhood. I have two friendly cats.
