The Senior General Ledger Accountant is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, maintaining compliance with accounting standards (e.g., IFRS/US GAAP/ Canada and Ireland), and supporting month-end and year-end close processes. This role will collaborate with AP/AR/Controller teams and provide insights to improve financial processes and controls.Specific Functions, Activities and ResponsibilitiesMaintain and oversee the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger.   Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements.Ensure compliance with IFRS/USGAAP and internal accounting policies.Manage month-end and year-end closing activities.Analyze variances and provide explanations for management reporting.Support audits (internal and external) and ensure timely resolution of findings.Assist in standardization process and automation opportunities.Collaborate with other finance teams on intercompany partners.Ensure compliance with local tax regulations and assist with Government surveys filings and reporting requirements.Monitor and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accuracy of financial data.Participate in system upgrades or implementations, ensuring proper configuration and testing for accounting processes.Provide guidance and technical support to junior GL accountants.
