Location: Albany, NY Category: Promotional Posted On: Fri Nov 8 2024 Job Description: The College of Emergency Preparedness, Homeland Security, and Cybersecurity (CEHC) at the University at Albany is hiring an Administrative Manager for the Cybersecurity department. The main role is to provide administrative support to help faculty be more effective in teaching and research by managing academic, fiscal, and personnel matters. The Administrative Manager will handle tasks that help the Chair, faculty, staff, and students work well together, as well as coordinate with University offices and outside agencies. The position will also connect the Dean's office with other departments and units across the University.Primary Responsibilities:
Manage all fiscal account activity in State, UAlbany Foundation, and Research Foundation accounts.
Consult with and advise the Vice Dean and Assistant Dean of Finance & Administration regarding budget planning and implementation.
Develop, implement and monitor all budget and expenditure requests and review the reconciliation of expenses for accuracy.
Assist faculty with preparing budgets for grant proposals and provide administrative support in monitoring their awards.
Manage department academic affairs support, including enrollment management, course scheduling, recruiting, advising and alumni affairs
Provide oversight for the Department's human resource/personnel matters; assist in onboarding for Department staff, faculty and student personnel.
Serve as Department liaison, troubleshoot issues with all campus administrative offices including the College Dean's Office, Information Technology, Graduate Education, Registrar, Institutional Research, International Programs, Payroll, Human Resources Management, Facilities Management, Purchasing, Accounting, Summer Sessions, and Undergraduate Education.
Participate in CEHC's financial, personnel and resource planning activities.
Supervise work-study students and student assistants assigned to the department office. Provide leadership, oversight and direction to direct reports to assure goals, programs, activities, and personnel practices are consistent with and contribute to the University's goals and strategies. Lead employees for maximum performance and dedication.

Supervises the following positions: one graduate assistant (PhD student)

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree from a college or University accredited by the US Department of Education or internationally recognized accrediting organization.
2 years of professional experience in an administrative capacity
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook)
Evidence of strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral.
Evidence of strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently and in a team.

Preferred Qualifications:
