Voorheesville, NY 12186, 7:30am-4:00pmBENEFITS: Paid Time-Off Tuition Reimbursement NYS Retirement Health, Dental, Vision and Hearing Employee Assistance ProgramDESCRIPTION: As the Director of Engineering, incumbent will be responsible for leading engineering teams to drive innovation, deliver high-quality service, and maintain our excellence. They will play a crucial role in shaping our construction and maintenance strategies, guiding the process, and ensuring that our engineering practices align with our department’s objectives. This position involves strong knowledge of highway design standards, construction practices, and regulatory requirements, with expertise in geometric design, pavement design, traffic engineering principles and bridge design infrastructure. Must be proficient in engineering software and tools, such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, Civil 3D, and highway design software. Incumbent will lead the highway engineering department, overseeing a team of engineers, planners, and technicians responsible for the design, construction, and maintenance of highways, bridges, and related infrastructure. The incumbent will also manage the planning and design of high-way infrastructure projects, including feasibility studies, environmental assessments, and engineering analyses, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards. This individual will coordinate with government agencies, stakeholders, and community groups to gather input, address concerns, and build consensus on transportation projects and initiatives. Incumbent will oversee the procurement process for high-way construction contracts, including bid solicitation, contractor selection, and contract negotiation, to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and adherence to project specifications. They will also monitor project progress, budgets, and schedules, identifying and mitigating risks and issues to ensure timely completion and delivery of highway infrastructure projects.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Graduation from an accredited college or university with at least a Bachelor’s Degree and ten (10) years of experience in highway engineering, transportation planning, and project management, five (5) of which include supervisory experience.SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:Possession of, or ability to obtain within twelve (12) months of appointment, a Professional Engineer’s (PE) license with a current registration in New York State, or current registration as a professional engineer (PE) in any state where licenser was obtained by means of written examination. Candidates registered in another state, if appointed to this position, must file a completed licenser application with the New York State Education Department within three (3) months.Please submit a resume, transcript, and copies of certifications with your application.Minimum Salary: 93,885.00
