We are seeking a Java Developer, Securities Industries Services (SIS) to join our Architecture & Innovation Team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the securities industry, strong Java development skills, and a proven ability to deliver robust and scalable financial solutions.Work-Mode: This is a remote role where you will work off-site. Travel is limited and generally used for team learning and collaboration meetings.Key Responsibilities:Java Development:

Design, develop, and maintain Java-based applications and services for securities trading, settlement, and custody.

Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code following best practices and coding standards.

Implement new features and enhancements, ensuring high performance and reliability.

System Integration:

Integrate Java applications with internal systems and third-party services.

Develop and maintain APIs and web services (REST, SOAP) to facilitate data exchange.

Ensure seamless interoperability between different system components.

Database Management:

Design and optimize database schemas to support application requirements.

Write and maintain SQL queries and stored procedures.

Perform database tuning and optimization for improved performance.

Security and Compliance:

Implement security measures to protect sensitive financial data.

Ensure applications comply with industry regulations and standards (e.g., SEC, FINRA, MiFID II).

Conduct code reviews and security audits to identify and address vulnerabilities.

Technical Troubleshooting:

Debug and resolve technical issues and defects in a timely manner.

Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.

Provide technical support and guidance to other team members.

Collaboration and Communication:

Work closely with business analysts, project managers, and other stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver solutions.

Participate in agile development processes, including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.

Document technical specifications, user guides, and other project-related documentation.

Qualifications:Technical Expertise:

Strong proficiency in Java programming, including core Java, Java EE, and related frameworks (Spring, Hibernate).

Experience with web technologies such as JSP, Servlets, and JavaScript.

Knowledge of messaging protocols and standards relevant to the securities industry (e.g., FIX, SWIFT).

Industry Knowledge:

In-depth understanding of the securities industry, including trading, settlement, and custody processes.

Familiarity with regulatory requirements and standards specific to the financial services sector.

Database and Tools:

Experience with relational databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, or MySQL.

Familiarity with development tools like Eclipse, IntelliJ IDEA, and version control systems (Git, SVN).

Knowledge of build tools and continuous integration (Maven, Jenkins).

Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills:

Strong analytical skills to understand complex business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

Communication and Collaboration:

Effective communication skills to interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and contribute to collective success.

Educational Background:

Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Finance, or a related field.

Relevant certifications or advanced degrees in software development or financial services are a plus.

Preferred Experience:

Experience with microservices architecture and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).

Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and deployment strategies.

Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
