DDSA's goal is to enhance data driven policy agendas and program improvement efforts that span the Medicaid enterprise.The Data Sharing Unit Director will lead the Division of Data Services & Analytics (DDSA) Data Sharing team to manage governance and policy relevant to sharing and use of data to support the NYS Medicaid program. The ideal candidate will leverage program and policy development and supervisory experience to meet the following job duties:
Direct Data Sharing Team within NYS Medicaid program, including day-to-day management, staff and resource direction, and interface with internal and external stakeholders
Provide management of data sponsorship and publication review processes, working with NYS Medicaid program staff, security and privacy subject matter experts, legal counsel, vendors, and external parties to stand up data sharing agreements and technical solution requirements
Lead development of data sharing policies to meet new or existing goals of NYS Medicaid program
Comprehensive on-the-job training and peer/supervisory support will be provided. The candidate should be able to take on new tasks and subject areas, willing to work in a team environment, and able to adjust to multiple priorities successfully.Skills and Qualifications: Bachelor's degree required; Master’s Degree in healthcare related field preferred At least 10 years of work experience, with at least 5 years experience in publicly funded healthcare or social service programs Supervisory experience required Experience developing program requirements and organization, including policy development, staffing, and operations Excellent ability to communicate with multiple internal and external stakeholders Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team Strong organization, documentation, and communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office required, specifically Outlook, Excel, Word.
