Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a closely related field and four years of experience in Information Management Systems; OR an Associate's degree in a related field and six years of such experience; OR eight years of such experience. A Master's degree in Computer Science or a closely related field may substitute for one year of such experience. A Doctorate in a Computer Science or a closely related field may substitute for three years of such experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
At least three years of RDBMS/Oracle 10g work related experience. Proven work in data warehousing environments. Proficient in creating complex SQL for reports. Work experience with advanced PL/SQL objects such as pipelined functions, arrays, etc. Proficiency in database architecture/data modeling. Intermediate knowledge of SQL LEVEL performance tuning using hints and Database Level performance tuning. Working knowledge of GITHub versioning software. Proficient in data management and data analytics. Experience building APIs to be consumed by Java tier. Experience creating SQLLoader scripts to import large amounts of data. Knowledge of Healthcare data warehousing architecture.

Responsibilities:
The Senior Database Developer will work in the Bureau of HIV/AIDS Epidemiology Systems Development and Maintenance Team and will be responsible for leading database development; serve as an active member of the team that oversees and leads the evaluation of data quality and improvement of overall surveillance system data quality; provide technical expertise to enhance and improve system data; supervise staff; oversee database performance enhancements and perform other appropriate related duties.

The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring effective communication between end users, the database development team and Database Administrators to implement application systems to support Bureau and Department mission critical core functions.
