Bartender job description:
The War Room, a unique and vibrant establishment, seeks an experienced Bartender to join our team. The candidate must have at least three years of bartending experience with beer, wine, spirits, and craft cocktails.
Leadership is paramount in the War Room. This role offers significant opportunities for growth and development and a chance to make a mark in the industry, both personally and professionally.
As a bartender, your primary responsibility is to provide exceptional service to our guests. This includes taking accurate guest orders, making drink recommendations, maintaining a clean and organized bar area, creating a variety of traditional and creative cocktails, serving craft cocktails, and ensuring each guest leaves smiling.
As a Bartender at the War Room Tavern, you will ensure that our guests have a memorable experience.
The ideal candidate is passionate about mixology, takes pride in keeping the bar clean and inviting, is proficient in cocktail and menu creation, and has a working knowledge of spirits, wine, and beer.
Job Duties:
Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which include wearing the proper uniform when working.
Adhere to all food safety and sanitation regulations
Monitor customer intake of alcohol and ensure responsible drinking practices are followed
Collaborate with other team members to ensure smooth operation of the bar
Bar Revenue Check List
Greet guests and provide them with menus
Confirm guests are of legal drinking age and follow all state and federal laws for serving alcoholic beverages
Upsell menu items and promote daily specials
Requires product knowledge of beer, wine, spirits, craft cocktails, and their preparation and presentation.
Take accurate food and drink orders from guests, provide recommendations based on their preferences, and deliver to tables promptly
Bar setup, prep garnishes, fill ice bin, stock bar, wipe menus
2-minute 2-sip check with guests throughout their stay to ensure all beverages & meals meet their expectations.
Correct any issues in a timely and professional manner.
Process payments using the POS system and prepare checks that itemize and total all costs. Collect payment from guests.
Clear tables after guests have finished dining, sanitize, and reset.
Perform duties associated with opening and closing the bar, including cleaning and mopping
Keep the Bar Neat, tidy and orderly, clean, sanitary and sparkling, and organized, planned and structured.
Clean as you go, complete all open and closed duties
All stations and side stations are detailed, stocked, and in order.
All floors are swept, windows wiped, and frames dusted.
Check restrooms every 30 minutes
Follows alcohol awareness procedures at all times.
Follow safe food handling and service practices at all times.
Ensure guest satisfaction by promptly addressing any concerns or special requests
Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines
Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure accurate order preparation
Knowledge of OpenTable
Job Qualifications:
At least three years of experience in Bartending
Mixology certification a plus with experience
Knowledge of food, alcoholic beverages, and bar menu items
Ability to learn the menu quickly
Legal age to serve alcoholic beverages
Comply with all food and beverage regulations
Ability to work well in a team environment
Climb flights of stairs to serve guests
Solve problems quickly and correctly
Flexible schedule and can work on weekends, holidays, and events and maintains regular & punctual attendance
Excellent knowledge of mixing, garnishing, and serving drinks
Team Leader, self-motivated, positive attitude, and excellent communication skills
Ability to keep the bar organized, restocked, and clean
Ability to wait on tables in the bar area
Interact with customers, take orders, and serve lunch, dinner, snacks, and drinks
