Actalent is looking for full-time Controls Engineer to support our client, onsite in Amherst, NY We are hiring for multiple roles, ranging from mid-level to experienced. Responsibilities:
Provides guidance and direction for other members of the electrical and controls engineering team.
Plans and programs logic control system for functions such as sequence, temperature, pressure, flow, voltage, current, and timing.
Illustrates and describes the concept, installation, and maintenance details of component functionality and system sequence of operation.
Reviews schematics with customer's representatives to answer questions during pre- and post-sale of product.
May confer with assembler and wirer to resolve problems regarding building of controls systems.
Prepares all documentation necessary for production as well as customer support (proposals, quotes, drawings, BOM, schematics, manuals, technical instructions, etc.).
Works with suppliers and outside engineering consultants to resolve technical and supply issues, improve system features and capabilities; investigates sources of special equipment, material, or devices. Obtains quotes, prepares requisitions, and qualifies supplier components.
Qualifications:
Degree in Electrical Engineering
Experience with Data Centers
Experience with HVAC systems, pumps, motors, piping systems
Experience with PLC programming and structured text language
10 years of experience with controls
Proficient with MS Office 365
Knowledge of specifications, codes, and standards used in commercial HVAC and datacenter industry (UL, ETL, NEC, IEC, NFPA)
Good mathematical and electro-mechanical, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills
Comfortable speaking with and the ability to communicate clearly in verbal and written form
Ability to practice discretion when communicating appropriate information to a variety of audiences
