Assists licensed therapists in the treatment of patients under all therapy disciplines
Prepares patients for treatment, as directed.
Transports / escorts patients to and from treatment areas.
Assists patients in dressing and undressing, as needed.
Places patients in position for treatment and assists in transfers.
Assists therapists during treatments, prepares hot and cold packs, and assists patients in ambulation under direction of therapist.
Assists professional staff in ordering supplies.Orders linens and maintains linen in a neat and orderly fashion.
Ensures treatment areas are clean and free of clutter.
Maintains clean treatment areas and disinfects treatment tables and equipment after patient use, as per hospital policy.
Sets up and breaks down treatment areas.
Maintains clean appearance of patient care areas including therapy gyms, kitchen areas, treatment rooms/booths, removing clutter and safety hazards.
Cleans and maintains water level in the hot pack machines.
Ensures all patient care equipment is clean, in working order and is properly distributed to patients according to unit guidelines
Maintains modality / equipment log books.
Monitors daily/monthly temperatures on refrigerators, freezers, paraffin bath, hydroculators and documents in log book
Documents Biomedical equipment inspections in log book
Inspects equipment and informs supervisors of faulty equipment requiring attention
Performs a variety of duties essential to the function of the department such as photocopying / faxing, patient related paperwork, maintains inventory of equipment and forms, etc.
Transports equipment and supplies weighing up to 50 pounds, as necessary.
Performs related duties as required.
ADA Essential FunctionsJob Qualification
High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
Prior patient care experience, required.
Ability to communicate effectively.
